Terms of use

These terms of use govern access to and use of the Espilon Learn platform (learn.espilon.net), published by the Association Espilon (French "association loi 1901"), 11 allée des Romarins, 78180 Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France. By creating an account, the user accepts these terms without reservation. Creating an account is reserved to individuals aged 15 or older; the user represents having the legal capacity required to accept these terms.

1. Purpose

Espilon Learn is a learning platform dedicated to hardware, IoT and OT security: courses, a reference wiki, challenges and hands-on labs.

2. Access to the service

Access to the platform requires creating an account. During the beta phase, registration requires an invite code and a verified email address before content unlocks.

3. User account

The user is solely responsible for keeping their credentials confidential and for any activity performed from their account. Any suspected compromise must be reported without delay to eun0us@espilon.net.

4. Acceptable use

Labs and challenges provided by the platform are dedicated learning environments. Any technique taught must only be practiced against environments provided by Espilon Learn, or against hardware and systems for which the user has explicit authorization. The following are notably prohibited:

• attacking unauthorized third-party systems, inside or outside the platform;
• sharing accounts or credentials between users;
• republishing or reselling course, wiki, or lab content without authorization;
• attempting to circumvent the platform's own security measures (outside the explicitly authorized scope of a given lab or challenge).

5. Intellectual property

Learning content (courses, lessons, wiki, labs, quizzes) is the property of Espilon or its authors and is licensed for personal use in the context of training. Any reproduction or distribution without prior consent is prohibited, except for third-party licenses explicitly credited on the site.

6. Service availability

Labs are provided for learning purposes as ephemeral instances, with a limited session duration specified on each lab's page. During its beta phase, the platform may undergo maintenance or interruptions without notice.

7. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" during its beta phase. Within the limits allowed by law, Espilon cannot be held liable for indirect damages resulting from use of the platform or from service unavailability.

8. Suspension and termination

Espilon reserves the right to suspend or terminate an account in case of non-compliance with these terms, notably in case of lab misuse, unauthorized attacks, or account sharing.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by French law. Absent an amicable resolution, any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the tribunal judiciaire de Versailles (Versailles, France), without prejudice to the consumer user's right to bring proceedings before the court of their place of residence.

11. Changes to these terms

The association may modify these terms at any time. Any change is published on this page, with the last-updated date serving as reference. Continued use of the service after publication constitutes acceptance.
